previously thought to exist only in the rivers in thailand (from an episode of Ikan Terhandal Malaysia), this picture in Sin Chew newspaper shows that this species of giant fresh water stingray can be found in malaysia waters as well. this specimen was caught in bintulu and weighs over 100kg.
according to the newspaper report, the people who caught the stingray could not sell it because no one dare buy the fish
