never give up
went casting at samarahan today. started around 10 minutes past 2pm and end around 5 minutes to 6pm. that's almost 4 solid hours of continuous casting. as early as 15 minutes into casting, a snakehead had a go at the berkley grub i presented but there was no solid hook-up. then things were quiet for a couple of hours before i got a few strikes in a row, but again no solid hook-up. one of the strike, came unexpectedly when i cast a yozuri popper to the opposite bank of a weedy area. i must have taken my eyes of the area when suddenly there was a huge splash and the popper was gone, the line tightened and i could feel a pull of the fish. there was a short tussle but because my fishing tackle was ultra light, i could not contain the sudden burst of energy from the fish, where it made its way to the snag and i lost it. i had almost given up. by then it was already 5pm. i decided to move to another spot. still, that area did not produce any result until 5.30 pm, when i blind cast and caught a 6 inch haruan. then 15 minutes later, i caught another haruan (8 inch) when i cast to a shallow spot. all the fish were caught using a berkley grub attached to nitrohead hook. in the end however, i lost the sp and that was when i called it a day.
