What number comes in-between 400d and 450d?

Well, the answer is 1000d. Don't make sense right? But Canon did just that. One of their latest entry level dSLRs is aptly named Canon EOS 1000d. It slots in right between the Canon EOS 400d and Canon EOS 450d. Over the weekend, I bought that camera. (Technically, it still belongs to the bank because I bought it using credit card)

Thus, over the weekend, I was engrossed with fiddling with the camera... and I would just like to share some of the photos (that passed quality check), that I took.

Be and Jon's RoM - 22 September 2008

My little sister, Belinda is not so little anymore. Today, is her registration of marriage to her beau, Jonathan. They are both in Singapore now. Working. My parents are there to witness Be and Jon's RoM.

Well, on behalf of Vivienne and myself, we would like to congratulate the HAPPY COUPLE and May God Bless and guide your marriage. To Jon, we would like to say, welcome to the family.

The thing that is bugging me NOW!!!

Lately, I've been listening to a certain radio station and an advert by a certain telco never fails to go on air. The thing is that I don't mind if the advert is played many times during an hour but if the advert is somehow "wrong"... then it does bug me.

Basically the advert is the voice of a obnoxious sounding person making a statement on irony. That person goes to say "lightning strikes the earth xxxx time every second... yada yada yada..." and the person continues on to say "... and yet people insist on saying lighting never strikes twice."

From my shallow knowledge and exposure, I always thought that the phrase that people say about "lightning never strikes twice..." does not end there... it should be "lightning never strikes twice, AT THE SAME PLACE!!!"

Anyway, now that I have rid that off my chest, I feel a lot better.

My advise to the telco... either take that advert off the air or improve on it.

Charles Improves (14 August 2008)

Charles from time to time will send me a brief catch report complete with pictures of his recent fishing forays. Due to unforseen circumstances, I have delayed to put the post those pictures in my blog.

However, I do find that with every single fishing adventure, Charles improves in his catch.

This time around, he has bettered his catch of Giant Tomans from a 1.3kg specimen to a 2.0kg specimen. Congratulation Charles. Keep up the good work and keep me posted.

2008 KGS fishing competition

i was alerted by Abdul Rahman Jarawi aka kobisbunga, last month, of the 2008 KGS fishing competition. i called up my Dad to confirmed if there was a competition and he said "yes!". thus, we decided to enter the competition once again. 2007 KGS fishing competition saw me finished runner-up with a snakehead of about 1.54kg. i was hoping to better that this time around. i asked my Dad to enter our names, Abdul Rahman's name and also Chen's name for the competition.

came competition day and we were at KGS before 7am. Abdul Rahman and chen were even earlier and had to wait for me and my Dad for registration. even as we walked to the registration area, we could see there were even more earlier anglers than us.

without much ado, we proceeded to the pond that contributed my 1.54kg specimen last year. i had release that fish after weighing during last year's competition and hoped to get acquainted with it again.

my Dad was the first to draw first blood with a sizeable snakehead. then it was Abdul Rahman's turn, followed by Chen. i did not have much luck, loosing a few fish due to unsuccessful hook-up.

soon, i decided to move around to the other ponds. it was there that i got my first snakehead for the tournament. it was just a small fella. soon, my Dad and Abdul Rahman joined me at that pond. my Dad's luck seems to be good. he landed a couple more sizeable snakehead. one hour remained before the end of the competition. whispers were abound that a 2kg+ snakehead had been caught. surely that would be the winning fish. 30 minutes before the competition ends, Abdul Rahman caught a big snakehead with a R2S sp frog. it was a big fish, weighing over 1kg mark. final whistled blew. Abdul Rahman's fish weighed in at 1.35kg and he managed to sneaked into the last spot of the prize giving ceremony. (there were 5 prizes all in all)
